What are the responsibilities and job description for the General and Special Education Paraprofessional 6 hrs/day, 2 days per week position at Stillwater Area Public Schools?
Position: Gen Ed and Special Education Paraprofessional
To assist the teacher in advancing the educational experiences of students in an interactive, caring, and supportive manner. The role requires focused work with one student or a particular student population who need more intense support, reinforcement, remediation, and attention.
Requirements:
In order to work as a Special Education Paraprofessional, you must meet the state requirement of being Highly Qualified within 10 days of your first day of work. To be considered Highly Qualified, you must have one of the following:
Limited Grace Period: We can offer a strictly limited 10-day grace period to submit necessary documents or pass the ParaPro Exam. Stillwater Area Public Schools will pay for the ParaPro Test if taken through the Harmony Learning Center. If unable to furnish highly qualified documents or unable to pass the test within the 10-day period, employment will be terminated. You are welcome to re-apply once passed.

- An Associates Degree
- 60 credits of post-secondary education
