Position Overview :
Stillwater Insurance Group has an immediate opening for an Auto Casualty Claims Adjuster in their Jericho, NY office. We’re looking for candidates with multi-state Bodily Injury, Umbrella, and Commercial Liability experience. This position may be filled as a Casualty Claim Adjuster I, II, III, or Senior level, depending on the candidate's background and qualifications.
Responsibilities (include but not limited to) :
- Provides superior customer service to both external and internal customers.
- Manages, investigates, and resolves auto, premises and commercial liability claims in a timely manner.
- Investigates, reviews, and evaluates coverage, liability, damages, and settles claims within prescribed authority levels.
- Interprets policies and analyzes details gathered to determine the best course of action.
- Secures necessary information (contracts, agreements, releases, statements or other documents) to assist in the investigation of claims.
- Responsible for managing complex auto litigation, maintaining cost controls, overseeing the work of outside counsel, and development of litigation strategy and resolution action plans. Able to aggressively manage legal counsel as needed to ensure proactive, legal cost-effective handling on all litigated matters.
- Establishes and maintains timely and appropriate loss reserves and expense budgets.
- Maintains a calendar system that ensures that each assigned claim will receive necessary ongoing attention.
- Ensures compliance in claims handling pursuant to all state, legal, statutory and regulatory bodies to comply with all company procedures and requirements.
- Handles assigned claims following company guidelines with a minimal amount of supervision.
- Acquires and maintains applicable adjuster licenses in all states where required.
