Position Overview :
Stillwater Insurance Group has an immediate opening for a Help Desk Technician in their Omaha, NE office.
This role works as part of a team to provide a full set of support services in a Windows desktop environment by analyzing requirements, resolving problems, installing hardware and software for internal and remote employees.
You will be responsible for the daily operational use of the Company’s PCs, printers, servers, and related equipment. Tasks include end user support, license tracking, and PC maintenance, upgrades and configuration management. The successful candidate will be willing and able to work business hours as assigned as well as willing to work off hours as needed, including weekends and holidays.
We’re looking for candidates who may :
Provide Tier 1 help desk support and resolve problems to the end user’s satisfaction.
Monitor and respond quickly and effectively to requests received through the IT helpdesk.
- Provide first-line IT support, troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues to ensure user satisfaction.
- Respond promptly to helpdesk requests, resolving common issues and escalating when necessary.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and group assignments in Active Directory.
- Assist users with password resets and multi-factor authentication (MFA) issues.
- Support remote employees with VPN, remote desktop, and collaboration tools.
- Install, configure, and test workstations, peripherals, and software to meet company standards.
- Deploy and configure PCs using standardized images and settings for new users.
- Ensure all employees have functional workstations, peripherals, and approved accessories.
- Perform software updates, patches, and routine maintenance on user devices.
- Monitor and manage the ticketing system, prioritizing and triaging support requests for timely resolution.
- Maintain and update internal IT documentation, including procedures and troubleshooting steps.
- Educate users on IT policies, security best practices, and basic troubleshooting steps.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours support as needed.
