- 40 hours per week
- Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
- Answering of calls, handling calls with high quality customer service at all times, or transferring, paging, or referring to appropriate staff
- Identifying patients needing scheduled via fax, telephone, and chart or in person to schedule both new and existing patients in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner. Patient Schedules’ will accommodate the needs of the patient, therapists and physicians in the best manner possible
- Follow up on new patients with pre-registration, pre-certification, and registration processes, as well as co-pay collections as identified
- Responsible for transports, lifts, supports, and prepares patients for treatment, and administers some therapeutic treatments under the direction of a licensed physical therapist or physical therapist assistant. General housekeeping duties, assists in clerical functions of therapy, especially in terms of statistics, record keeping and filing, and charging
- High school graduate or GED equivalent
- Preferred experience with medical terminology or anatomy
- Ability to type at least 40 words per minute
- CPR certification from the American Heart Association or obtained within the first 30 days of employment
- Computer experience: broad knowledge of computers, ability to use programs in system, including Microsoft Office products
- Good communication and people skills including: phone and in person, good English, written and oral skills; team player
- Operation of multi-function phone systems, fax machine, printers and multi-function copier
- Completion of on-the-job training to include competency testing in skills applicable to job responsibilities
- Ability to work in stressful situations
- Able to work in latex burdened environment
- Able to lift, carry, push, and pull light to moderately heavy material, supplies or patients (up to or >100 lbs.) for most of the shift
- Able to lift, carry, push, and pull heavyweight materials (over 100 lbs.) occasionally
- Able to stand/walk for extended periods of time throughout the work schedule, with some bending and stooping
