JOB SUMMARY:
Coordinates the daily operations, assists in managing, and provides staffing for the Radiology and Mammography departments. Assists the director of Medical Imaging in the hiring process and offers recommendations regarding assignment, transfer, suspension, termination, or disciplinary action of employees. Assists with employee annual evaluations and provides suggestions to improve department workflow.
Assists in writing equipment bid specifications and preparing equipment decision matrices prior to equipment acquisition. Evaluates medical imaging equipment and provides input regarding equipment acquisition and equipment disposal.
Operates radiographic equipment, digital mammography equipment, and digital bone density equipment to obtain and process diagnostic images, prints film, burns CD’s, coordinates daily QC program, responsible for mammography ACR accreditation and FDA inspection, prepares rooms, equipment, supplies, contrast media, and obtains and documents pertinent patient history. Explains exams, screens, and educates patients. Provides compassionate patient care during imaging procedures. Recognizes image artifact and records information for the patient’s medical record. Explains exam and educates patients about procedure.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduated from Radiological Technology Training in a JCERT approved school program.

Current ARRT registry card on file.

Additional ARRT (M) Mammography Certification required.

Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Current CPR card or completion of course within 30 days of hire required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must have strength and stamina for prolonged walking and standing.

Able to frequently lift up to 60 pounds, reach, pull, bend, stoop, and kneel.

Demonstrates adequate vision, or correctable with glasses/contacts, to read, write, and evaluate medical images.

Able to hear, or correctable with hearing devices, and able to talk to converse with others in person and over the telephone.

Able to hear, see and feel to accurately observe, monitor, and administer care.

Possess fine motor skills and hand/eye coordination to give care (i.e., operate ultrasound equipment, develop film, venipuncture.)
