Stillwater Post-Acute is a 256-bed Skilled Nursing Facility in the El Cajon, CA area servicing the highest quality of care to Skilled, Long-Term, Subacute and Dialysis patients. We are looking for a Director of Rehabilitation to join our amazing team to oversee our therapy personnel. Our ideal candidate will be able to continue our established programs and implement any updates or changes for better efficiency and effectiveness. We are looking for a DOR who is preferably a Physical Therapist (DPT) who has worked in a Skilled Nursing Facility or Long-Term Care setting. The DOR position is open to Occupational Therapists (OTR) and Speech Therapists (SLP) as well.
About the Position:
The Director of Rehabilitation is responsible for the day to day activities in the rehab department overseeing all therapy personnel including Physical, Occupational and Speech. This includes implementation of new programs, hiring and training new staff, and meeting care plans for all residents.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Directly supervises and guides all therapy personnel, in an assigned facility which would include licensed, registered, certified therapists, assistants, aides and students.
- Daily scheduling for the department staff to meet the needs of the facility.
- Provides direct care and works with other Department Heads to determine appropriate caseload in tandem with management responsibilities.
- Keys information into computer systems, including EMR and rehab systems.
- Assures that the rehabilitation needs of the residents are met.
- Periodic review of the therapy services offered and updated to meet the changing environment.
- Adherence to all regulatory standards as they pertain to the delivery of rehabilitation services.
- Ensures that all clinical documentation is complete, timely, and accurately reflects the services provided.
- Conducts periodic department documentation review.
- Coordinates denials management activities of the department to ensure that claims are timely and/or appeals timely and in accordance with company procedure.
- Meets and or exceeds the productivity standards as established.
- Ensures that the services delivered are of the highest quality and meets all standards of practice.
- Implements new treatment programs.
- Monitors treatment programs for outcomes and adjusts plans of care in accordance.
- Assures that the department follows the established policies and procedures of the facility and the company.
- Approves time cards and time worked by the department personnel.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Preferably a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or open to Occupational Therapist (OTR)/Speech Therapist (SLP)
- In good standing with the Licensing Board
- Medicare/Medicaid knowledge
- CPR/BLS Certification
- Experience in a Skilled Nursing (SNF) or Long-Term Care setting
