Essential Functions of a Stillwater Caregiver :

  • Assisting residents with activities of daily living while encouraging their independence and maintaining their dignity, providing medication reminders.
  • Providing individualized comfort and care based on resident's life story and personal needs.
  • Communicating with all parties involved in resident care, including : nurses, management, vendors, and fellow team members

    Nature & scope

    The Wellness Partner works closely with our residents and family members. They support our residents in maintaining as much independence as possible while assisting them to meet their physical and emotional goals as determined by the service plan.     Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    This position is an integral part of the overall services provided at the community and has responsibilities in several areas. This is not a complete listing of all responsibilities and other duties may be assigned as needed.

  • Resident Care
  • o Provides medical and physical care, in accordance with their scope of practice, to the residents to meet their daily needs.

    o Handles the resident’s personal care needs and support in a timely manner. Helps the resident keep their dignity by letting them do as much for themselves as possible.

    o Observes the residents closely and identifies changing needs and conditions. Reports information to the Director of Wellness or Manager on Call.

    o Actively participates in the resident’s care / service plan for the purpose of improving the life of the resident.

    o Creates and maintains meaningful relationships with residents and families.

    o Supports the resident’s involvement in decision making regarding their daily activities.

  • Housekeeping
  • o Maintains clean and sanitary spaces in the community including residences and common spaces.

    o Helps take care of the community environment including pets, plants and outdoor spaces.

    o Complies with all regulatory sanitation requirements.

    o Takes precautions to prevent transmission of disease through contamination

    o Assists the resident who wants to do all or some part of their laundry.

    o Completes the personal laundry of those residents who don't choose to participate in doing their own laundry.

  • Activities
  • o Works with the team to provide planned activities and seeks opportunities throughout the day to provide spontaneous activities that meet the interests of the residents and the community.

    o Asks residents and family members about the resident’s preferences for types of activities and experiences and makes those types of activities available.

    o Participates in celebrations and traditions with resident and family members.

    o Participates in and may lead daily learning circles with residents and staff to determine daily desires and preferences.

    o Helps new residents and families make adjustments to community living.

  • Marketing and Sales
  • o Welcomes guests and visitors with a ready smile and greeting.

    o Actively participates sharing suggestions for Continuous Quality Improvement.

    o Is ready to share positive comments about the community and why you feel we are a good fit for new residents.

    o Take pride in the reputation of the community and has a genuine understanding of the “Stillwater Standard”.

  • Qualifications :

    Education / Experience :

    Three to six months related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    For Memory Care, 2 years of experience dealing with residents with memory loss or dementia preferred, Must have High School Diploma.

    Language Ability :

    Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

    Math Ability :

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

    Reasoning Ability :

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

    Computer Skills

    Computer skills needed.

    CNA, preferred but not required
