MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR:
Stimson Lumber Company is looking for a passionate, driven leader to oversee our maintenance program at our Tillamook, OR facility. Stimson, a leader in the Forest Products industry for over 160 years, believes in doing things right the first time. That is why your passion needs to lay in safe work practices and a strong preventive maintenance program. In this role you will lead a team of Maintenance Planners, Millwrights, Electricians, PLC Technicians, Mechanics, PM Technicians and Maintenance Cleanup Support. The ideal candidate will enjoy developing a team and will be an excellent communicator, able to set clear expectations and hold their team accountable for results. This position is part of a larger leadership team, working collaboratively on the overall success of the Mill. Schedule: Dayshift/Salary position
Your Accountabilities . . .
Ensure all work is performed safely.
Oversee preventive maintenance planning and scheduling and predictive maintenance programs.
Manage Millwrights, PM Technicians, Electricians and Mechanics in their daily maintenance chores, including completion of scheduled PMs as well as urgent response to unplanned or emergency repairs.
Provide appropriate training and development for your team, planning in advance and working with the rest of Mill leadership to ensure you have necessary bench strength, trainees, and apprentices in place.
As a member of the Mill leadership team, attend and engages in meetings to collaborate across the Mill, and support special projects, safety training and events, or other assignments as may be assigned from time to time.
Lead efforts for approved improvement projects, conducting research, cost analysis, financial justification, and product specifications. Plan for installation and follows through until project yields desired results.
Work with vendors and suppliers to achieve maximum service levels to company.
Evaluate and improve on key performance indicators for maintenance efforts including:
o Safety Compliance
o PM Completion
o Downtime Management
o Overtime Management and Staff Planning/Training
o Expense Controls
o 5S and Mill Cleanliness
Your Qualifications:

Excellent communication and team leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff and achieve results through your team
Strong analytical problem solver identifying true root causes for upset conditions concerning operations, safety, mechanical, electrical, etc.; ability to troubleshoot mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, and PLC programming
Highly organized with strong abilities in prioritizing, planning and scheduling
Successful experience maintaining and leading PM/TPM efforts with Maintenance and Operations departments
Proven business aptitude to manage financial costs within the maintenance department, control labor costs to minimize overtime, and manage supplies, expenses and repairs (maintain accurate spare parts inventory)
Ability to communicate clearly both vertically and horizontally, including daily communication with crew on safety, quality and job expectations and continual collaboration with operational leaders Experience utilizing CMMS systems, AutoCAD, and basic business software (MS Suite); ability to read blue prints
Minimum of five years maintenance supervisory skills and strong preventative, predictive, and proactive maintenance experience. High School diploma required, college leve
