Millwright Apprentice:

Stimson Lumber Company in Tillamook, Oregon is seeking an Talented Millwright Apprentice. In this role, we are seeking an apprentice with hands on approach. This person needs to be team-oriented and possess great problem-solving skills. You will execute your role within a group that embraces innovation, continuous improvements and provides educational opportunities. Starting Pay: Base pay for this skilled position will start at $29.00 to $32.00 per hour. People with significant knowledge and experience may come in at a higher level.

Pay Differential: This is a Swing Shift Position, meaning that you will earn another $1.50 per hour in shift differential over your negotiated base pay.

Overtime: This position is eligible for Overtime at time and a half.

Commute Pay: All Mill employees receive a $350/month fringe benefit to help with the cost of commuting and transportation. This is the equivalent of another $2.00 per hour for full-time employees.

Healthcare: Stimson pays over 80% of the premiums for healthcare coverage for full-time employees, including medical, dental and vision.

401(k): Stimson provides a 100% match on the first 6% of your pay when you contribute to your 401(k)-retirement account.

Profit Sharing: Contributions are deposited annually into your 401(k) account for Profit Sharing, up to 3% of your pay.

Bonus: This position is bonus eligible and will receive a discretionary bonus in years when the company and location are profitable.

Paid Time-Off: Position offers 9 paid holidays and 2 weeks of paid vacation. Paid sick leave is available up to 40 hours per year.

Employee Referral program: Earn a $2500-$5,000 for successful employee referrals.

Responsibilities and Duties:
Demonstrate safe work practices in all you do
Work hand in hand supporting Millwrights-on the job training-preventative maintenance, equipment failures and equipment repairs, other duties as assigned
Assist Millwrights in completing maintenance responsibilities and classroom or book course work; at the direction of Maintenance Supervisor
Proactively communicate with all departments to ensure proper operation and maintenance of system and equipment

Your Qualifications:
Making safety in the workplace a number one priority
An understanding of equipment operation in an industrial plant setting; lumber industry desired
An understanding of maintenance needed for industrial equipment
An aptitude for learning mechanical skills (hydraulic, pneumatic)
Ability to demonstrate basic math skills
Ability to lift 50lbs, stand up to 10 hours a day, reach with hands and arms, stoop, squat, bend at the waist, kneel, climb stairs, and move equipment as needed. Must be comfortable in year around outdoor temperatures, in loud conditions, with airborne particles (sawdust), and working around moving mechanical equipment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Team player and highly self-motivated individual
