Garden Center Merchandiser at Home Depot
We are looking for a self-motivated, detail-oriented individual with a desire to learn, who wants to hit the ground running and loves to work outside.
Our goal as a company, and your responsibility as an Area Manager will be working side by side with a team of merchandisers on excellent presentation/displays and maintenance of live shrubs, trees, roses and seasonal items within a retail garden center. You will be responsible for following plan-o-grams, maintaining signage and aesthetics standards, as well as assisting shoppers all while assembling and maintaining commercial displays inside a big-box garden center. We ask that you make your store’s garden center appealing, organized, and provide customer service to maximize plant sales, so the customers have a worry free, pleasant, and welcoming shopping experience.

Responsibilities:
*Manage and work side by side with a team of Merchandisers in 7-10 Retail Garden Centers.
*Display plant material according to Big Box Retail & Company Merchandising Standards.
*Ensure safe construction and location of displays.
*Set up, restock, and take down marketing displays - reorganizing as needed and refilling displays as shipments arrive.
*Maintain and help sell plant material - includes watering, signing, & pruning.
*Converse with customers as they request assistance and/or have questions.
* Effectively communicate with supervisor, store employees, other service teams.
*Send daily photos and weekly updates of what’s going on in stores.
*Keep a clean work area.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs
Qualifications:
* Previous experience in merchandising, retail/sales, customer service, horticulture, landscaping, or other related fields preferred.
*Ability to handle physical workload - consistently lift and move up to 40 lbs. throughout the day.
*Self-motivated- able to work with minimal supervision and take control and ownership of your territory.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
* Deadline and detail-oriented.
*Excellent communication & organizational skills.
*Able to work both independently and with others.
* Minimum age of 18.
* Complete and pass a background check.
* Reliable transportation & valid driver's license.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Weekends as needed
