This is an entry level position with the goal of learning the electrical construction business, estimating and project management. Training on company systems and software will be provided. We anticipate a one to two year learning period progressing to the position of a professional electrical estimator/project manager.
Job duties will be varied based on ability to learn concepts and apply learning to daily tasks and may include the following:
- Estimate plan and spec and design build projects
- Read and interpret architectural and electrical plans and specifications
- Understand and apply the National Electrical Code and Minnesota Energy Code
- Prepare proposals and communicate with the client
- Collaborate on rough draft drawings for design build projects and assist in the design process
- Prepare requests for quote, evaluate quotes and issue POs for suppliers and subcontractors
- Attend onsite project meetings and communicate with the project team
- Communicate job requirements with foreman
- Estimate and track project change requests and change orders
- Oversee/manage the progress of the project from estimate to completion
Qualifications
- High school diploma with experience in the electrical trade
- Or trade school certificate in electrical construction, design, estimating, construction management, electrical technology, engineering, drafting or a closely related field
- Knowledge of electrical theory and NEC
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Bluebeam and/or Adobe
- Familiarity with Accubid, Plan Grid, CAD, AGI or Easy Power is desirable, but not required
- Ability to pass a criminal background check, pre-employment and post-accident drug test
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout the metro areaM-F flexible between 7:00am - 5:00pm

Pay: $28.00 - $33.00 per hour
