Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Windows Network Support Technician to join our IT support team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in networking, user support, Windows Server administration, and managing enterprise-level IT infrastructure. This position will also require hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, virtual machines, Azure cloud services, firewalls, and data backup solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to end-users for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Administer and maintain Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policies.
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot firewalls and ensure proper network security protocols are followed.
- Manage Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and user account administration.
- Deploy, manage, and maintain virtual machines in both on-premises and Azure cloud environments.
- Monitor and manage cloud-based backup solutions for server images and critical data.
- Provide support for local and network printers, including configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Maintain documentation for systems, procedures, and infrastructure.
- Assist in IT projects including upgrades, migrations, and system implementations.
- Monitor network performance and perform proactive maintenance to ensure uptime and reliability.
- Design and implement disaster recovery solutions leveraging on-premises and cloud storage platforms (e.g., Synology NAS, Azure Blob Storage).
- Support hardware installs, server rack setup, and assist with physical device troubleshooting (must be able to lift up to 40 lbs if needed)
- Serve as the primary cybersecurity incident response representative, coordinating resolution efforts for phishing, malware, and unauthorized access events.
- Collaborate with MSP and leadership on remediating vulnerabilities and documenting incident outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience (3 years preferred) in IT support or network technician roles.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) administration.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 admin center and related tools.
- Experience supporting Windows and MacOS environments is a plus.
- Working knowledge of Azure, including VM provisioning and cloud networking.
- Hands-on experience with firewall configuration and troubleshooting (e.g., Fortinet, SonicWall, Cisco).
- Experience configuring FS, Aruba, or Cisco network switches is a plus
- Proficiency in managing server backup solutions, especially with cloud integration (e.g., Veeam, Acronis, Azure Backup).
- Strong understanding of network protocols, TCP/IP, and VPN technologies.
- Familiarity with virtualization platforms (e.g., Hyper-V, VMware).
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Network (required), Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, MCSA, or similar are a plus.
