Job Description

Our Retail Manager will oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring a personalized shopping experience that meets the unique needs of quilters. This role requires strong leadership, operational excellence, and a passion for people and creative crafts.

The Retail Manager will lead the retail team to deliver outstanding customer service, drive sales performance, manage inventory effectively, and create an engaging and welcoming shopping experience. This role requires strong leadership, operational excellence, and a passion for providing superior retail experiences while upholding our company’s core values. Additionally, the Retail Manager will play a key role in supporting on-site events such as retreats and large in-store events, ensuring seamless integration of retail operations with event activities to enhance the overall guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership and Development

  • Recruit, hire, and retain high-performing store staff.
  • Provide training, coaching, and ongoing development to team members.
  • Schedule, supervise, and optimize team performance to meet operational needs.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, offering constructive feedback and setting clear growth objectives.
  • Create a positive and motivating environment that aligns with core values.

Customer Experience

  • Champion a customer-first culture that ensures exceptional service.
  • Address customer feedback, inquiries, and concerns promptly with professionalism.
  • Implement customer engagement strategies to foster loyalty and repeat business.

Sales and Financial Management

  • Set, monitor, and achieve store sales targets and financial goals.
  • Analyze sales data to identify trends and develop actionable improvement plans.
  • Manage budgets effectively, including payroll, expenses, and profit margins.

Inventory and Merchandising

  • Oversee inventory management, ensuring optimal stock levels and efficient replenishment.
  • Implement loss prevention strategies and conduct routine inventory audits.
  • Design visually appealing merchandising displays that align with brand standards.
  • Plan and execute promotional events and seasonal displays.

Operational Excellence and Safety

  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming store environment for staff and customers.
  • Manage cash handling procedures with accuracy and security.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in business, retail management, or related field preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years in retail management with supervisory experience.
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed sales and profitability targets.

Skills:

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in retail management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent problem-solving, multitasking, and conflict-resolution skills.

Other Requirements:

  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and flexible hours as needed.
  • Physical capability to lift and move merchandise as required.

Pay is based on knowledge and experience
