Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sales & Customer Support Representative to join the Sterlite Sales Team. This entry-level position is designed to provide hands-on experience in inside sales, market analysis, customer relationship management, and business development within the fiber optic cable manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will develop a strong foundation in sales processes, customer service, and product knowledge, with opportunities to grow into a more senior sales role over time.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Engagement & Sales Support
- Assist customers via phone and email with questions regarding orders, quotes, and pricing.
- Respond swiftly and professionally to customer inquiries and complaints.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers through friendly, engaging communication.
- Support Regional Sales Managers with data-driven analysis to track customer interactions, sales trends, and potential growth areas.
- Act as the customer’s advocate, ensuring that quality and service-related concerns are effectively addressed and resolved.
Inside Sales & Quotations
- Assist in responding to requests for proposals by preparing and providing accurate and timely quotes.
- Provide pre-sales technical assistance, collaborating with Engineering for product applications and technical expertise.
- Participate in customer visits and sales calls via phone, web conferencing, and occasional travel.
Market & Sales Data Analysis
- Assist Regional Sales Managers by conducting market research and analyzing sales and customer data.
- Identify sales trends, customer needs, and opportunities to improve the sales process.
- Support sales and marketing teams in proposing technical business solutions that align with customer needs.
Order Management & After-Sales Support
- Provide post-sales assistance by ensuring customers receive shipping documents and tracking information promptly.
- Issue invoices to customers in a timely manner, ensuring alignment with monthly/quarterly remittance goals.
- Work cross-functionally with logistics, finance, and engineering teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- No prior experience required—ideal for recent graduates or those looking to build a career in sales.
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); familiarity with Sales Force or other Customer Relationship Management systems is a plus.
- A customer-centric approach with a positive, can-do attitude.
