Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Engineering Manager to join a dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, construction, and operation of nuclear facilities and systems. This role requires a strong understanding of nuclear engineering principles, as well as the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project success. The Project Engineering Manager will play a crucial role in advancing our projects while adhering to safety regulations and industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for nuclear projects.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and review technical documentation, including schematics and blueprints.
- Utilize construction management software for project coordination and tracking.
- Oversee construction estimating processes to ensure accurate budgeting.
- Provide technical support during the construction phase, ensuring adherence to design specifications.
- Implement quality control measures throughout the project lifecycle.
- Participate in safety assessments and contribute to the development of safety protocols.
- Plans and manages work activities to ensure successful project execution while maintaining safety, quality, schedule, and budget adherence.
- Often working under the supervision of a Project Director or above, demonstrates and provides project leadership in their area of responsibility.
- Supervises and delegates tasks among staff.
- Monitors day-today activities and consistently demonstrates the ability to proactively identify potential project
- problems or opportunities, analyze the issues using all appropriate resources, develop alternatives, and arrive at the most optimum approach to mitigate problems or exploit opportunities.
- Demonstrates knowledge of resources and capabilities of other groups for appropriate incorporation into project organization.
- Clearly understands the scope of work and contract requirements or those requirements that pertain to his/her area of responsibility.
- Supports or conducts formal status reporting and presentations to client and/or management.
Skills
- Proficient in blueprint reading and understanding complex schematics.
- Experience with Civil 3D for design purposes.
- Familiarity with construction estimating tools such as HeavyBid.
- Knowledge of project management software like Primavera for effective scheduling and resource allocation.
- Strong project coordination skills to manage timelines and deliverables effectively.
- Ability to build collaborative relationships across various engineering disciplines.
- Proficient in Prolog for programming tasks related to engineering solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Minimum Experience:
- B.S. Engineering Degree from an accredited university in an Engineering Discipline
- Professional Engineering (PE) License in any State with ability to be licensed in other States by Comity
- Experience working in a nuclear plant
- Must be able to obtain and maintain unescorted access at a nuclear power plant.
- Experience working with others in a Project Team environment

- Ability to prioritize and organize work in a multi-tasked environment
Preferred Requirements:
- M.S. in an Engineering discipline, with Power Focus
- Field experience / Walk-downs on power projects
- Electrical and/or Instrumentation & Controls Engineering background
- Experience preparing Engineering Design Modification Packages for Nuclear Power plants including familiarity with Nuclear Standard Design Process (IP-ENG-01)
