What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Mining Engineer position at STM Associates?

STM Associates has been retained by a coal mining company to find a CHIEF ENGINEER for the company's office located in RAVEN, VIRGINIA. Travel to the company's operations in McDowell County West Virginia will also be required.
The Chief Engineer will be responsible for the day-to-day activities of the mining engineering department.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Represent company leadership in developing and executing a safety culture to support safe work performance.
- Develop, update, and implement practical mine plans which allow for orderly development and exploitation of economically mineable coal reserves.
- Coordinate all production and engineering activities which will include projections, ventilation, utilities (air, water, power), QA/QC, ground support engineering.
- Travel to other mining operations as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor of Science Degree in Mining Engineering or related degree or equivalent experience is required. The successful candidate must be a licensed PE and have over five years of mining engineering experience in both underground and surface mining operations.
