What are the responsibilities and job description for the RESEARCH SPECIALIST position at Stock Yards Bank and Trust?
As a Research Specialist, your day will be filled with opportunities to provide research services to internal and external customers.
Responsibilities
Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Manage the returned deposit items process
- Assist with the Deposit Review process (on a rotation) - to accommodate branch cut-off times
- Assist with processing internal and external research requests daily to ensure required department service levels are being maintained
- Learn and assist with the processing of legal orders to include garnishments, levies, subpoenas, etc.,
- Assist with foreign check processing
- Perform non-post processing duties as needed
- Learn and retain knowledge of the Federal Reserve Check Adjustment Processing guidelines
- Cross-train within the department and assist co-workers as dictated by Department Supervisor and/or Manager
- Maintain current job procedures directly related to job function to include the required annual review process
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers and all levels of management orally and in writing
Job Requirements
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- 1 year of banking experience

Typing 30 WPM
High degree of accuracy and attention to details
Ability to independently prioritize in a multi-task environment to meet deadlines and department goals/standards
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to define problems and apply purposeful viable solutions
Self-motivated and dependable
Innovative thinking
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
PC proficient, with exposure / experience to Excel, Word, and Outlook
