Job Description
As a Bank Teller, your day will be filled with opportunities to complete face-to-face customer banking transactions, sell and cross-sell bank products and services, and provide exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Exemplify our commitment to service by delivering high-quality interactions with customers.
- Process deposits, withdrawals, cash checks, and balance the cash drawer accurately.
- Cash checks in accordance with SYB check cashing policy.
- Sell official checks to meet customer needs.
- Process and balance teller work through image capture.
- Engage customers and prospects to uncover needs and offer relevant solutions through consultative selling.
- Open new accounts and perform account maintenance as needed.
- Retain and expand customer relationships through personalized service.
- Process and close loan requests (if trained).
- Assist customers with questions and/or concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Participate in weekly team meetings to stay informed and contribute to the team's success.
Job Requirements
- Possess a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Be proficient in PC skills.
- Have prior banking experience (preferred).
- Demonstrate strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
- Have basic knowledge of Word and Excel software.

Physical Requirements
This position requires sitting for the majority of the time with occasional walking and standing. All work takes place indoors within regular working hours. The noise level is typically moderate. While performing job duties, employees regularly use their hands and fingers, handle objects, reach with their hands and arms, and talk or hear. Occasional long periods of standing may be required on the teller line. Associates may occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
