Transportation Supervisor - Stockton Educational Center Transport - North
The SEC Transportation – North, Transportation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, strategic planning, and overall management of the transportation services in the North region. This includes ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable transportation for individuals, particularly adults with disabilities, seniors, and other specialized groups. The Program Director will supervise a team of drivers, staff, and scheduling personnel, manage resources effectively, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain high standards of customer service.
In this position you will:
- Lead and manage all aspects of the SEC Transportation - North program, ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of clients to their designated destinations, including medical appointments, recreational activities, and employment.
- Supervise and manage a team of transportation staff, including drivers and support personnel.
- Oversee the scheduling, dispatching, and routing of transportation services to maximize efficiency, minimize delays, and ensure client satisfaction.
- Manage the day-to-day logistics of the transportation service, including vehicle assignments, staff coordination, and addressing operational challenges.
- Monitor transportation performance, troubleshoot issues, and resolve any incidents, delays, or complaints in a timely manner.
- Ensure proper maintenance, inspection, and cleanliness of all vehicles, maintaining compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Ensure that all transportation services comply with local, state, and federal transportation laws and safety regulations, especially regarding services for individuals with disabilities and special needs.
- Monitor transportation expenses, including fuel, maintenance, staffing, and operational costs, and make recommendations for cost-saving measures without compromising service quality.
- Address and resolve any client concerns or complaints regarding transportation services with professionalism and care.
- Maintain accurate records, including transportation logs, incidents, accident reports, and client feedback.
- Prepare regular reports for senior management on the status, performance, and outcomes of the transportation program.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to transportation staff, fostering a positive, client-centered work environment.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations for staff and provide feedback to promote continuous improvement.
Nice to have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Transportation Management, Public Administration, Social Services, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience with transportation management software
- VDDP Certification
- Class C Driver’s License with Passenger Endorsement
Must have:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation program management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, safety standards, and best practices, especially related to individuals with disabilities and specialized transportation services.
- Experience managing budgets, finances, and cost control within a transportation program.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, staff, and community partners.
- Flexibility in working hours including evenings, weekends, or after-hours support during busy periods.
- Ability to work with operational or emergency issues outside of normal working hours.
- Ability to pass DOJ background clearance
- Ability to obtain First Aid/CPR Certification in 60 days
Compensation
- 42,000 – 60,000 Annually dependent on experience.
