QUALITY INSPECTOR/CMM TECHNICIAN/QUALITY ENGINEER

The Quality Engineer is the technical expert in part evaluations, FAI's, and GD&T.
This position requires in-office presence, so working remotely is not offered.
Skills and Abilities Required:
- Read and interpret aerospace manufacturing drawings, including tolerances, customer specifications and technical requirements.
- Accurately compare product to engineering drawings/specifications, purchase order, and manufacturing orders using common manual inspection equipment, (e.g., surface plates, micrometers, height gauges, calipers, protractors, radius gages, profilometers, bore gages, PCMs, dial indicators, etc.) in order to accept or reject product.
- Perform First Article Inspections (“FAI’s”) per AS9101
- Operate the Contour Measuring Machine (“CMM”) proficiently and safely. Training provided.
- Document product acceptance/rejection on manufacturing order, and process appropriate rejection documentation if necessary.
- Complete non-conformance documents required by Stoddard International and/or its customer.
- Thorough understanding of documents required in the execution of inspection duties including, but not limited to, customer purchase orders, applicable quality notes, etc.
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Tactfully communicate with all levels of staff.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a Quality position or aerospace manufacturing environment
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be 18 years old
- Able to read aerospace mechanical drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of AS9100 Quality system requirements and the corrective action process.
- Familiarity with ASME Y-14.5 geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
