Stoeckel Jahner Land Survey [a division of JSD Professional Services] is seeking an energetic, proven Professional Civil Engineer project manager to pursue, produce, and manage civil engineering opportunities out of our Alexandria, MN location. This position entails the pursuit of civil design opportunities through Business Development networking, RFP tracking, and proposal drafting and submittal. This position will manage the civil projects, or add-on civil elements of a Survey project, all the way through the design, entitlement, and deliverable process.
Project Engineer II
Reports to : Practice Leader and / or Director of Discipline
Location : Alexandria, MN [In-Office] Must reside in Minnesota, USA.
Minimum Required :
Education : Bachelor Degree in civil or related engineering field or equivalent;
Experience : 10 years of experience in Civil Engineering design and project management related to Commercial, Retail, and Residential site development
Required : Professional Engineer License in MN and / or WI
Duties :
- Extend project / client management duties to include contract administration and invoicing duties.
- Professional design of subdivisions, grading plans, earthwork volumes and storm drainage calculations, design of utilities, including storm and sanitary sewers, paving, watermain, waterlines, waterline sizing, and street improvements.
- Perform civil engineering work on project plans for both private and public sector work including site development, commercial development plans, and subdivisions; utilizing Civil 3D, HydroCAD, WinSlamm, and other applicable software programs.
- Executes, encourages, and upholds established SJLS / JSD Standards in all aspects of project design and deliverables.
- Research and prepare draft proposals for Sr. QA / QC.
- Attends internal project team and external client / jurisdictional authorities’ meetings witha Sr. Project Manager and offers professional guidance in the project planning
- Provides mentorship, technical assistance, training, and oversight to peers / junior staffengineers as needed.
- Provide peer-to-peer and junior staff QA / QC on civil design plans and SWMP.
- Completes design calculations. Researches code requirements and design proceduresmanuals.
- Verifies design computations and plan detailing for conformance with codes, manuals, anddesign considerations.
- Communicates with project team members, client representatives, review agencies, and others as appropriate to project.
- In coordination with all applicable disciplines prepares opinions of cost, quantities, periodic reports, pay estimates, and data necessary to document acceptability of materials and quantities for final payment.
