What are the responsibilities and job description for the Public Health Nurse II position at Stokes County Government?
DESCRIPTION: Provide daily triage services for Health Department patients, as well as prior authorizations and referrals paperwork. This position will also be responsible for ordering 340B drugs, while completing inventory for medications and supplies in the clinic. Serve as the communicable disease back-up nurse, including ensuring services to prevent and contain the spread of reportable communicable diseases. This process may include communication/collaboration between the Health Department, hospitals, private physicians, occupational infection control personnel, NC Communicable Disease Control, NC TB Control, NC Immunization Branch, and other community, State, or Federal agencies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from a four-year college or university with a B.S. Degree in Nursing which includes a Public Health Nursing rotation and one year of Public Health Nursing experience; or graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing and two years of professional nursing experience including one year in public health; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS: A current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina by the North Carolina Board of Nursing and a valid North Carolina Driver's License. Also, requires the use of a personal car.

Criminal record check shall be submitted two business days prior to the scheduled interview date or before any offer of employment. A criminal record check can be obtained from the County Clerk of Court's Office in each county in which you resided in during the previous five years.
