What are the responsibilities and job description for the Process Technician position at Stolle Machinery Company?
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for designing and implementing manufacturing processes, equipment and plant (from pilot to fully
operational) to achieve the production goals of the organization. Position is also responsible for developing
programs to control machining or processing of metal parts by automatic machine tools, equipment or systems.
- Determine the sequence of machine operations and select the proper cutting tools needed to machine
- Develop a Routing Review process to eliminate errors and retest programs to check that problems
- Analyze job orders, drawings, blueprints specifications and design data to calculate dimensions,
- Determine reference points, machine cutting paths or hole locations and compute angular and linear
- Observe machines on trial runs or conduct computer simulations to ensure that programs and machinery
- Compare computer printouts with original part specifications and blueprints to verify accuracy of
- Modify existing drawings to enhance efficiency.
- Create and compile necessary documents to aid in setting up jobs and machines.
- Enter computer commands to store or retrieve parts patterns, graphic displays or programs that
- Provide quotes and costs to outside customers.
- Create ECNs (Engineering Change Notes) for parts and process changes.
Additional responsibilities and duties may be assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 3-5 years of experience or an equivalent combination of
- Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics and their applications.
- Knowledge of machines and tools including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance and
- Knowledge of tool steels used in die work and how each responds to heating/treating at different Rockwell hardness.
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools and principals involved in production of precision technical
- CMM inspection capabilities.
- Writing computer programs for CNC equipment.
- Ability to draw using AutoCAD 2008/ 2014, SolidWorks software, micro-estimating, Griffo Brothers,
- Work schedule generally consists of 40-50 hours per week, which may include overtime, on-call status, evenings, and/or weekends.
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
