We are currently recruiting for a Global Safety and Compliance Auditor to support the Stolthaven team. In this role you will report directly to the COO of Stolthaven Terminals and collaborate with Regional SHEQ Managers, General Manager's/Terminal Manager's, and other functional leaders to enhance overall safety performance.
Stolthaven Terminals, a division of Stolt-Nielsen Limited (SNL), is the specialist storage provider for bulk liquids: chemicals, clean petroleum gases, vegetable oils, biofuels and oleochemicals. We are continuously seeking how we can add value for our customers.
What will you be doing
He or She will be responsible for planning, conducting, and documenting safety and compliance audits across all Stolthaven terminals globally. This will including ensuring that each site operates in full compliance with internal policies, industry standards, and relevant regulatory requirements. Additionally. collaborating with terminal teams to identify best practices, recommend improvements, and drive a culture of continuous safety excellence.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain an annual audit schedule covering all Stolthaven terminals. Conduct on-site and remote audits to verify compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
- Analyze safety metrics and KPIs to identify trends and areas for improvement; communicate recommendations to site and corporate leadership; Document findings and track corrective actions.
- Research emerging safety trends and benchmark best practices against industry peers.
- Coordinate or deliver training programs on relevant safety regulations and identified best practices;
- Evaluate training effectiveness and maintain records to ensure employee competencies are up to date, promoting a culture of continuous learning.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement by sharing successful initiatives and lessons learned across terminals.
- Support or lead projects aimed at enhancing safety policies, standards, and procedures based on audit insights.
- Liaise with external regulatory authorities, third-party auditors, and other relevant stakeholders as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Safety Management, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is an advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years in a Health & Safety role, preferably in the petrochemical, oil & gas, or logistics industry. Preferably within an organization that has ship/shore interface’s.
- Demonstrated audit and compliance experience (conducting audits, writing audit reports, tracking corrective actions). CDIT/CDI and other related auditing experience is preferred. Thorough understanding of regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA, local maritime/terminal requirements).
- Excellent leadership, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in data analysis, reporting tools, SHEQ management software, and auditing software/tools.
