We are currently recruiting for an Instrument Technician to join our Stolthaven New Orleans team.
Stolthaven Terminals, a division of Stolt-Nielsen Limited (SNL), is the specialist storage provider for bulk liquids: chemicals, clean petroleum gases, vegetable oils, biofuels and oleochemicals. We are continuously seeking how we can add value for our customers.
What you will be doing
He or she will maintain and repair the electrical instrumentation and controls for the terminal operating equipment. Responsible for the overall Terminal Electrical and Instrument Systems Maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform Preventive Maintenance tasks, diagnose and repair terminal operating equipment including items such as control panels, programmable logic controllers, flare systems, instruments and process measurement and flow devices.
- Acquire and sustain knowledge of plant safety standards, including lock out tag out, confined space entry and emergency response actions.
- Receives instructions both written and verbal, setting the priorities for work assignments.
- Install, test and calibrate flow, level, pressure, temperature and other process instruments.
- Read and understand P&ID drawings. Record information on control systems and maintain documentation on terminal instrumentation.
- Meets with vendors to acquire skills and knowledge pertaining to technology advancements, cost control, and alternative solutions to reoccurring problems.
- Inspects new construction for correct, complete and safe installation, as required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
- Knowledge of PLC programming and software; Industrial Instrumentation and Electrical.
- Minimum 5 years work experience in electrical control trouble shooting and repair.
- Use of computer software systems (non – specific).
- Solid analytical and trouble shooting abilities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; Capability of handling multiple deadlines simultaneously.
