Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Cost Estimator (mid-level) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in assisting our clients by creating & developing accurate cost estimates at all design phases (conceptual through construction documents plus change orders). This position requires strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of general building construction specifically: institutional, education, retail, municipal, and other commercial building types.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs based on narratives, specifications, drawings, and other media at various levels of design.
- Review and analysis of parallel cost estimates.
- Cost estimating support on feasibility studies and facility conditions assessment reports.
- Manage & track cost controls throughout the design process.
- Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to develop budgets.
- Utilize software tools such as On Screen Takeoff, MS Excel, & Bluebeam.
- Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather relevant data for accurate estimates.
- Monitor ongoing project costs to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Provide recommendations for cost control measures throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain comprehensive records of estimates, contracts, and change orders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is required.
- Proven experience as a Cost Estimator in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction process, labor productivity, and equipment costs.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail in pricing and cost analysis.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members, clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Ability to run cost control meetings and reconciliation meetings.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $132,540.00 - $146,051.00 per year
