Description of position
A Stone Fence Beverage liquor and wine sales rep will be selling a Stone Fence catalog of liquor and wine to on and off premise accounts (liquor stores, retailers and restaurants). You'll make your accounts successful by bringing them liquor and wine brands that customers will find interesting. Reps will visit these accounts daily, in person, in addition to communicating with them via email, text and over the phone.
Expectations of position
To be successful in this position you'll be required to know your brands, know your accounts and understand the economics of the business. You'll be required to update your CRM (customer relationship management) software and kept up to date. You will have weekly and monthly goals.
Geographically you'll cover greater Greater Manchester in New Hampshire as well as Salem and points in between. Candidates should have a background in outside business to business sales (sales experience in the beer, wine or spirits industry preferred) and should be familiar with a consultative sales approach. Candidates should know the region and will need a valid drivers license and reliable transportation, must be 21 years of age and must pass a state of NH background check (required for all licensed liquor and wine reps). In addition, candidates must be able to carry and lift 45-65 pounds, reach overhead, sit for periods while driving to appointments, stand and walk for a period time and squat and bend.
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute a daily schedule of calls, emails and in-person visits.
- Solicit new business to increase revenue and distribution within route territory.
- Effectively plan on a daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly basis to meet goals to increase market share, space allocation and customer service.
- Write wine lists and drink menus showcasing the Stone Fence and Crush wine portfolio
- Ensure all required documentation is completed in an accurate and timely manner.
- Develop and grow your brand, market and industry knowledge to more effectively promote sales.
- Communicate and coordinate merchandising tactics to accounts and support merchandising activities, as needed.
- Report on issues related to the competitive market and offer constructive suggestions.
- Other duties as assigned.
- May include working nights and weekends on promotions and other account activities.
