Brygga Plates & Pours is looking for skilled, friendly, and energetic Bartenders to join our team for the 2025 summer season. As a Bartender, you will be responsible for crafting a variety of beverages, offering excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and organized bar. Key Responsibilities:
- Drink Preparation: Mix, garnish, and serve drinks according to Brygga Plates & Pours' recipes and standards, ensuring each drink is made with precision and care.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional service to bar patrons, ensuring that their needs are met in a friendly, professional, and timely manner.
- Menu Knowledge: Maintain a deep understanding of the drink menu, including cocktails, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages. Be able to make recommendations based on guest preferences.
- Cash Handling: Accurately process transactions, including cash, credit, and debit payments. Handle the bar’s cash register and maintain proper cash control procedures.
- Maintaining Bar Area: Keep the bar clean, organized, and well-stocked throughout shifts. Replenish supplies, such as liquor, garnishes, and glassware, as needed.
- Creating a Positive Atmosphere: Foster a friendly, fun, and energetic environment at the bar, building relationships with regular customers and new guests alike.
- Upselling: Suggest additional drink options, including upselling premium liquor, cocktails, or beverages to enhance the guest experience.
- Compliance: Follow all alcohol laws and company policies, including checking IDs to ensure guests are of legal drinking age. Adhere to health and safety standards regarding food and drink handling.
- Teamwork: Collaborate with other bar staff, servers, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient service. Help with any additional tasks as needed to support the team.
- Event Support: Assist with bar setup, service, and breakdown for special events, including private parties, weddings, and other functions hosted at Brygga Plates & Pours.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a bartender in a fast-paced restaurant, bar, or event setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of drink recipes, cocktail preparation, and wine and beer offerings.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests and create a positive, enjoyable experience.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and maintain composure during busy periods.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Ability to handle cash and process payments accurately.
- Must be of legal drinking age and have any necessary licenses or certifications (e.g., responsible beverage service certification).
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 25 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in craft cocktails and advanced mixology.
- Knowledge of wine and beer pairings, as well as general beverage trends.
- Previous experience in a high-volume bar or fine dining setting (preferred but not required).
