Stone Mart is in need of an Interior Design Assistant at our north Indianapolis location.
This is a perfect position for someone who has a freelance interior design background but needs benefits or a recent graduate with BFA in interior design. As an Interior Design Assistant, you will be the first person home owners interact with in our warehouse showroom. You will be responsible for both “front-of-house” activities, like greeting and welcoming our homebuyers, but also assisting fabricators with purchases, maintaining our showroom and inventory, and "back-of-house" helping with administrative and operational activities.
We are looking for a person interested in working for a small company with big clients.
Job Responsibilities for this Interior Design Assistant position include:
- Develop customer relationships by assisting in the selection process of natural stone slabs for kitchens, baths, and other construction/remodeling projects.
- Assist home owners, interior designers and builders by providing knowledge and information about our products to help them make an educated selection for their needs.
- Communication of inventory, pricing, and delivery options via phone or email with customers.
- Working to resolves customer problems and ensuring that the customer visit was a good experience.
- Answering phone calls.
- Keeping the showroom organized and stocked up with supplies.
- Offering allied products to homeowners and fabricators.

Requirements
- The position requires excellent interpersonal skills. We hire positive energetic people who enjoy helping others.
- People oriented
- Availability every other Saturday 9am - 1pm and every other Wednesdays until 7pm.
- An associate degree preferred, but we look at the individual rather than their degree
- Excellent telephone and communication skills.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to quickly learn the details of this position and work in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable multitasking
- Flexibility and willingness to work as a member of a team

Expected hours: 40 – 44 per week
