Entertainment Assistant Operations Lead

The Assistant Operations Lead will contribute to the success of the Entertainment Department by assisting with the organization and management of entertainment venues and storage facilities as well as the implementation and training of safety standards and practices for venues, equipment and staff and provide oversight to stage management and usher staff. This position will also actively participate in seasonal installations and strikes of individual shows, technical operations, management support and administrative duties while providing excellent customer service to our employees and guests.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Additional duties may be assigned. Management retains the discretion to change or add to the duties of this position at anytime.
  • Partners with Manager, Supervisor and producers to ensure that all seasonal production aspects are acceptable and functional at each Entertainment venue.
  • Partners with Management in developing and implementing strategic plan for maintenance, enhancement and improvement of all entertainment venues.
  • Ensure the day-to-day operations and management of all Entertainment venues and green rooms.
  • Oversee venue parameters such as capacity, house management, and signage requirements.
  • Partner with Supervisor to ensure safety kits and fire extinguishers are maintained and installed in all venues along with SDS and IFR certificates and ensures that all necessary personnel are trained relative to their use.
  • Assists with the training and management of all seasonal Stage Managers and Venue Ushers.
  • Provide guidance and support to Stage Managers and Venue ushers with operational, employee, and guest issues.
  • Partner with Supervisor to ensure all performers, technicians, ushers, stage managers and staff are trained relative to safety requirements per venue.
  • Assists with safety walk through for all seasonal performers prior to season openings.
  • Works with the Operations Lead and Supervisor to assist with all required safety walks per season with Stone Mountain Police Department and Park Safety.
  • Assists in maintaining all park facilities used by the Entertainment Department.
  • Assists the Manager and/or Supervisor when working with all contracted shows, ensuring that operational needs are met.
  • Assists as needed for all seasonal installations and strikes.
  • Serves as Lead Technician or 600 (MOD) as needed, during all Entertainment Seasons.
  • Acts as a liaison and support for departmental employees, ensuring their concerns are met, their working conditions are satisfactory, and the quality of their performance meets the goals of the department and company.
  • Participates in and contributes to the development and orchestration of annual entertainment programming.
  • Attends all Producer Walk-Throughs, Invitational Dress Rehearsals, and Department Trainings as assigned.
  • Attends all department production meetings as needed.
  • Assists with sourcing and the acquisition of all necessary equipment and supplies required for daily operations, rehearsals, and strike as assigned.
  • Provides overall creative input on aspects of entertainment product as assigned.
  • Partners with Supervisor and Leads to catalog all sets, props, tools, paints and supplies and maintain inventory control systems.
  • Manages product and associated budgets as assigned.
  • Assists with seasonal auditions as assigned.
  • Conducts show/product/company research as assigned.
  • Provides administrative support as assigned.
  • Oversees and/or leads projects as assigned.
  • All other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
These are carried out in accordance with applicable safety policies and laws. Responsibilities include:
  • Directly supervise employees
  • Training, coaching, planning, assigning, and directing work
  • Addressing complaints and resolving problems
  • Ensuring staff adherence to all safety procedures and proper grooming standards
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must read, write, and speak the English language (knowledge of other languages a plus)
  • Must have experience as a stage/house manager
  • Must possess knowledge of theme park or entertainment venue safety regulations and protocols.
  • Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must be able to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Must have knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and the Internet
  • Must display strong attention to detail
  • Must have strong creative skills
  • Must have excellent organizational skills
  • Must be able to maintain a good working relationship with co-workers
  • Must be able to effectively multi-task and make responsible decisions
  • Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business correspondence
  • Must have the ability to write reports and business correspondence
  • Must handle confidential information responsibly
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in theater or theme park performance operations
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in theatrical stage management
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in theatrical house or venue management

Specific vision requirements for this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to focus and night vision. Must be able to take directional cues directly or indirectly.

  • Must have and maintain a valid Driver's License
