What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety Operations Dispatch Clerk position at Stone Mountain Park?
The Operations Dispatch Clerk performs routine, but somewhat varied clerical duties in accordance with standard procedures under general supervision. Work requires knowledge of everyday operations on Park, special events, and the ability to act as central dispatch during emergency situations. Additional duties may be assigned. Management retains the discretion to change or add to the duties of this position at any time.
- Responsible for recording all hourly attendance counts from attractions
- Maintain and file safety department logs and checklists.
- Listen to radio traffic and record in daily log.
- Monitor weather radar and dispatch information promptly to all park Duty Managers and team members.
- Dispatch all emergencies and updates to all park Duty Managers and/or park PD.
- Generate the Daily Adventure Plan, nightly reports, memorandums, and other typed documents.
- Respond to routine and non-routine inquiries
- Refer unusual or complex inquiries to supervisor.
- Provide general information by phone or in person to guests and team members.
- Perform a variety of routine clerical duties such as answering the phone, logging faxes, copying, and assembling materials
- All other duties as assigned

- Must read, write, and speak the English language.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must have the ability to work days, nights, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
- Must have knowledge of modern office methods and procedures, technology, and office equipment.
- Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software.
- Must have the ability to type 40 wpm.
- Must have the ability to understand radar maps for approaching inclement weather that could affect park operations
- Must have knowledge of proper grammar usage, punctuation usage, spelling, style and format.
- Must have the ability to maintain a good working relationship with co-workers and the general public.
- Must have the ability to use good judgment and at times make decision quickly.
- Must have the ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.
- Must be detail oriented.
- Must have the ability to learn and recognize organizational charts for use in the scope of authority.
- Minimum of 1 year of clerical/general office experience.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
