Job Title: Junior Cloud Engineer
Location: Hybrid – St. Louis
Employment Type: Contract with potential for extension or conversion
Pay Range: $40–$60/hr W2 (based on experience and qualifications)

Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the design, development, testing, and deployment of scalable applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
- Support new and existing application development in a cloud-first environment (Google Cloud Platform preferred).
- Collaborate with senior engineers and product owners on software requirements, feature enhancements, and testing strategies.
- Participate in agile ceremonies and follow CI/CD best practices for software delivery.
- Build and maintain technical documentation to support application logic, processes, and testing.
- Write clean, testable, and self-documenting code that other developers can easily understand and extend.
- Assist in test automation using JUnit, Rest Assured, or similar frameworks.
- Support DevOps initiatives such as integrating build tools (e.g., Maven, Jenkins) and using source control (Git).
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 3 years of experience with Java/J2EE development, including Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and REST APIs.
- 1 years of experience with Angular (version 12 or higher).
- Familiarity with TDD/BDD practices and API testing (REST/SOAP).
- At least 1 year of experience working in a public cloud environment (GCP preferred).
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins, Bamboo, or GitLab.
- Working knowledge of vulnerability scanning tools.
- Exposure to containerized applications and Kubernetes/Docker environments.
- Interest in learning and growing into a lead or full-stack engineering role.
- Previous experience with Selenium or other test automation frameworks.
- Experience working in agile teams using Scrum or similar methodologies.
