BIM Manager – 3-5 years
Division/Department: Heavy Civil Data Center Construction
Reports to: Project Manager
Job Classification: Salary $75k – 100k
Job Summary: The BIM Manager for heavy civil data center construction is responsible for leading the integration and management of Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes within the planning, design, and construction of data centers. This role requires expertise in BIM technologies, managing multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring the accurate modeling of infrastructure systems that are critical to the data center environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- BIM Implementation & Management:
- Lead the implementation of BIM processes, standards, and best practices across heavy civil components of data center construction projects, including site development, utilities, structural concrete, and critical infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain BIM execution plans, standards, templates, and procedures specific to data center construction.
- Oversee the use of BIM tools such as Autodesk Revit, Civil 3D, Navisworks, Procore, and any data center-specific software tools for utilities, electrical, mechanical, and site systems.
- Team Coordination & Collaboration:
- Participate in a team of BIM specialists, engineers, and designers, ensuring proper coordination with the client’s multi-disciplinary teams (civil, MEP, structural, etc.).
- Facilitate collaboration between project managers and superintendents to ensure seamless integration of BIM data to the field by transferring CAD data to Trimble automated machine control systems.
- Quality Control & Data Management:
- Ensure high-quality, accurate BIM models, ensuring that data, geometry, and information reflect the design intent and meet project specifications.
- Attend weekly client meetings to discuss clash detection within BIM models to identify and resolve issues early in the design phase.
- Establish and enforce data management procedures, ensuring proper version control and organization of all BIM-related files.
- Project Support:
- Provide BIM support for data center project planning, design, and construction activities, including the integration of civil infrastructure and structural concrete.
- Meet weekly with client BIM coordinator for constructability reviews, clash detection, and resolving conflicts across multiple disciplines (e.g., civil utilities, structural elements, and MEP systems).
- Oversee the creation and management of 3D models, 4D scheduling, and 5D cost management, ensuring that they align with the project’s execution plan.
- Training & Development:
- Train and mentor team members, engineers, and project managers, on BIM tools and workflows specific to data center construction. Including mentoring and teaching team members how to BIM model correctly and effectively.
- Ensure that the project team stays up to date on the latest BIM technology and construction practices, particularly those relevant to the data center industry.
- Reporting & Documentation:
- Provide regular reports on BIM progress, including milestones, clashes, and issues for senior management and project managers.
- Document and track lessons learned, BIM-related challenges, and resolutions to improve future projects.
- Health, Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure that BIM processes are aligned with company safety standards and industry regulations, particularly in data center construction environments.
- Stay informed on relevant codes, regulations, and best practices related to data center design, construction, and BIM integration.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field.
- 5 years of experience in BIM management, with at least 2 years of experience in data center or heavy civil construction.
- Proficiency in BIM software tools, including Autodesk Civil 3D, Revit, Navisworks, and others relevant to data center construction.
- Experience with complex infrastructure systems (e.g., electrical, mechanical, utility networks) and their integration into BIM models.
- Knowledge of data center construction processes including structural concrete and underground civil utilities and their coordination within BIM.
- Strong understanding of BIM standards, protocols, and data management practices.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications such as Autodesk Certified Professional or similar credentials.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time, salaried position or hourly as negotiated
- Travel to project sites and client locations will be required.
- A mix of office and field-based work.
Salary: Competitive, based on experience.

Pay: $87,976.00 - $93,482.00 per year
