Our Oregon Team is rapidly growing in the Hermiston, Umatilla, and Boardman area. We provide our

SRC is seeking to hire a Lead Heavy Equipment Excavator Operator. The successful candidate will be responsible for helping to manage a team of heavy equipment operators, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and overseeing the quality and efficiency of all excavation work. This position requires strong leadership, excellent communications skills, and extensive knowledge of excavation equipment and procedures. This position is based in Hermiston, Oregon and is full time year-round. The typical work schedule is 50-60 hours per week.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
· Operate and supervise the operation of heavy excavators and related machinery in a safe and efficient manner.
· Experience lead small crews of laborers and pipe fitters to excavate, install, and backfill underground utilities
· Understand and interpret heavy civil structural and utility design plans
· Lean, train, and mentor a team of excavator operators, providing guidance and support to ensure high standards of performance.
· Review project specifications, blueprints, and plans to determine excavation needs and ensure the work is completed according to design requirements.
· Monitor and maintain the daily operations of excavators and other heavy equipment, ensuring they are properly serviced and functioning optimally.
· Collaborate with other team members to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
· Adhere to strict safety policies and procedures at all times.
· Perform related duties and responsibilities as required by the superintendent.
· Wear all company required Personal Protective Equipment.
· Perform daily equipment inspections checks. Ensure that the equipment is clean, properly shut
down, and stored at the end of the shift.
· Maintain cleanliness at the jobsite.
· Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
· High school degree or equivalent educational experience; vocational school or trade
apprenticeships a plus.
· OSHA 10/30 preferred but not required.
· Must be 18 years of age.
· Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, must meet company vehicle
insurance policy requirements.
· Positive attitude and work ethic.
· Able to work independently or as an active member of a team.
· Excellent interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management and clients.
Working Environment and Conditions
This position requires working indoors and outdoors. While performing the duties of this job the
employees are frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is regularly
exposed to wind, sun, rain, and cold weather.
Essential Job Functions
· Lift, carry and push/pull at least 50 pounds without difficulty.
· Be able to stand or walk on a project site for extended durations.
· Climb in and out of equipment.
· Ability to communicate effectively with vendors, management, and other co-workers, both individually and in front of a group is important.
· Ability to accurately layout and capture other trades layout is a critical component of this role.
· Standing for extended periods is common.
· Working in or around confined spaces.
