What are the responsibilities and job description for the Swimming Coach position at Stonecrest Swim Club?
Stonecrest Swim Club is looking for a Swimming Coach for our youth summer swim team. The Stonecrest Stingrays is a competitive summer league swimming and diving team located in Allentown’s West End. Our season lasts approximately 9 weeks, beginning the Tuesday after Memorial Day until the end of July. We swim 6 meets per season against other swim teams in the ABE League. At the end of the season, qualified swimmers and divers are invited to compete at ABE Championships. This is a seasonal position Tuesday, May 27, 2025 until Sunday, July 27, 2025 (tentatively)
Qualifications and Responsibilities:
- Experience as a swim coach or instructor and a passion for developing young athletes.
- Manage and organize all aspects of the swim program. Plan a training program, teach proper technique, submit meet entries for each meet, coach at meets, provide positive feedback to swimmers to help them improve.
- Foster a fun and learning opportunity for all our swimmers and divers.
- Supervise and collaborate with the assistant coaches and dive coaches.
- Collaborate and communicate with the swim team planning committee and parents.
- Attend coach meetings with the ABE League and other team coaches (1-2 a season).
- Attend end of year team party and coordinate swimmer's awards with assistant coaches.
- Must be available for all practices, dual meets, and championship meets.
Anticipated Practice times:
Memorial day until last day of school: evenings 5:00-7:00pm
After last day of school: mornings 8:30-10:30am
Exact practice times will be determined mid-may after registrations are complete.
Dual Meets:
Our team has 6 meets at our club and various clubs around the area. Meets are in the evenings approx. 5:00pm-9:00pm on Tuesdays or Thursdays. Final schedule is tbd.
Championship meets:
Three championship meets happen the final three Saturdays in July. Final schedule is tbd.
Salary commensurate with experience.
