Job Summary :
The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for charging, receipt and accounting of funds being paid to the organization. Additionally, the accounts receivable specialist is responsible for processing the deposit and withdrawal of security deposits.
Job Duties and Responsibilities :
- Records and reconciles daily cash deposit receipt batches to daily bank statements.
- Applies tenant payments to ledgers.
- Makes adjustments to tenant accounts as needed.
- Processes manual deposits as needed.
- Performs the move Ins for new tenants.
- Processes move out reports received from property / assistant property managers. The Security Deposit Refund must be released within 14 days from the move out date.
- Deposits and withdraws security deposit checks.
- Prepares and tracks security deposit refund correspondence.
- Compiles scanned copies of correspondence, refund checks, proof of mailing and other documents to upload to tenant drive for company records.
- Screens rent stabilized / controlled tenant rent checks.
- Processes MCI increases, MBR adjustments, RE Tax escalations (including billing and letter notifications via mail)
- Processes utility billings and chargebacks.
- Processes miscellaneous chargebacks and check requests.
- Answers tenant inquiries about billing, security deposits, and other accounting related matters.
Job Requirements :
Working Conditions
This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
This is a full-time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9 : 00 a.m. to 6 p.m.

This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing and scanning is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
Job Classification : Non-Exempt
Salary Range : $55,000 - $75,000 Annually
