What are the responsibilities and job description for the Spray Technician position at Stoneleigh Golf and Country Club?
Stoneleigh Golf and Country Club is looking for a spray technician to join our team. The spray tech will be responsible for all pesticide/fertilizer application to the golf course and areas of our club house grounds. We are located 15-20 minutes west of Leesburg, VA outside of Washington, D.C. This would be an opportunity for someone to further their experience in the golf course industry or for anyone that may have experience in turf pesticide applications. This position will involve the application of fertilizers and pesticides used to strengthen golf course turf and club house grounds. On days there are no scheduled applications, spray tech will also be required to assist in other areas of golf course maintenance. The candidate will also be required to obtain a Virginia pesticide license within 90 days. Experience is highly preferred but will train the right person.
Prefer this as a full-time position with overtime. Monday – Friday and one weekend day throughout the summer. Will consider part time for the right person. All staff is required to be available for weekend tournaments as well. We are flexible, family and life are important. We also like to squeeze in a few days off here to not get burned out.
Educational Requirements
- Prefer degree or working toward turf related degree. Extensive experience will also be highly considered
Experience Requirements
- Turf pesticide applicator license or obtain within 90 days (club will finance)
- Experience with golf course equipment
- Able to understand basic math conversions to mix pesticides
- Apply fungicides, herbicides, and insecticides to golf course
- Responsible for fertilizer applications
- Calibrate application equipment
- Manage and keep records of all applications
- Keep application equipment clean
- Assist in other area of golf course maintenance
Special Requirements
- Must have drivers license and transportation to work
- Must have or obtain pesticide licence by 90 days
- Able to lift 50 lbs. on occasions
- Will have to make excessive movements on a daily basis
