Overview
As a Produce Clerk, you will play a vital role in ensuring our customers have access to the freshest and highest quality produce. You will be responsible for maintaining the produce department's appearance, assisting customers with their selections, and managing inventory effectively. This position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively with team members and customers alike.
Duties
- Stock and display fresh fruits and vegetables in an appealing manner to attract customers.
- Monitor product quality and freshness, removing any items that do not meet our standards.
- Assist customers with inquiries about produce items, providing recommendations and information as needed.
- Load and unload deliveries of produce, ensuring proper handling to maintain quality.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the produce department, including cleaning displays and equipment.
- Perform basic retail math to assist with inventory counts and product pricing.
Experience
- Previous experience in a warehouse or retail environment is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with inventory management practices is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills are necessary to manage stock levels and maintain department standards.
- Ability to communicate clearly with team members and customers to ensure a positive shopping experience.
