Job Summary
The General Maintenance Assistant is required to have a basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry and HVAC. They enhance the security of the physical property as well as providing a visible presence of security to our team members, visitors, and residents. They must be able to identify, troubleshoot, and correct problems. A valid driver's license is required.
Responsibilities
- Patrol parking areas
- Remove nightly trash
- Operate vehicle safely
- Interact with Nursing Team Members to investigate security concerns
- Install, maintain and troubleshoot plumbing and mechanical equipment, including commercial laundry equipment
- Fix appliances
- Assist with the removal of snow and ice, as directed
- Interact with Team Members, Residents, and Guests in a courteous and professional manner
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance tasks, as directed
- Complete all documentation per facility protocol and Standards of Practice
Qualifications
Commercial appliance experience
EPA Certification
Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry and HVAC skills and prior experience required
Good communication skills
Basic computer skills
Demonstrate the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
