Job Summary And Qualifications
The Anesthesia Tech is responsible to support patient care activities and directly assist Anesthesia personnel as directed. The activities include but are not limited to: room set up, stocking supplies, assisting with patient positioning, cleaning scopes and assembling supplies or equipment for each procedure. The responsibilities also include the trouble shooting of equipment and any other activity to increase productivity in the department. Considers age-related factors in care of patients ranging from infants to geriatrics and applies the knowledge appropriately in accordance with standards and departmental policies and procedures.
Experience: One year experience as an Anesthesia Tech required. Ability to maintain a mature, professional manner and demonstrate sound judgement when dealing with physicians, clinical staff, patients and families, and all other hospital personnel. Computer experience preferred.

Job Summary And Qualifications
The Anesthesia Tech is responsible to support patient care activities and directly assist Anesthesia personnel as directed. The responsibilities also include the trouble shooting of equipment and any other activity to increase productivity in the department. - Follows all principles of asepsis. Stocks supplies and equipment plus prepares the anesthesia machine and cart for specific patient procedures.
- Assists in properly positioning the patient for the procedure in accordance with written protocol.
- Assists in transferring anesthesia equipment to/or from the OR, Endo, PACU and OB.
- Works closely with the Anesthesia staff to ensure rapid turnover of rooms.
- Assists the staff in obtaining the appropriate scopes and equipment for cases as requested.
- Stocks the OR rooms and other anesthesia areas daily to meet demands.
- Sets up equipment, ensuring proper operation of the equipment with first “trouble shooting” to prevent delays due to malfunctioning.
- Assists in the collection of data for quality improvement.
- Cleans scopes and prepares them for reuse by reprocessing.
- Assists anesthesia staff during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Responds to emergencies as directed by the physician or CRNA.
- Keeps all supply/equipment storage areas neat and orderly.
- Daily checks carts and restocks as needed.
- Completes all assignments as directed.
- Performs monthly maintenance and recalibration for all equipment as directed by manufacturer.
- Complete bi-monthly tasks for CO2 and halothane vaporizers.
- Maintains a locator guide for all supplies and equipment.
- Keeps inspections current.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
