What are the responsibilities and job description for the Climbing Gym- Class Instructor/Front Desk Attendant position at Stoneworks Climbing Gym?
What you'll be doing: This position is split between instructing classes AND working the front desk.
- Must be over 18 years old to apply.
- Required to work 1-2 weekends a month (Saturday & Sunday).
- Preferred: Rock climbing experience and be proficient in top rope belaying with both ATC and a Grigri.
- Instructing Intro to Belay classes which teaches fundamental of climbing techniques, safety checks, climbing commands, tying knots, belaying and testing customer skills on the wall. Classes are 2 hours long, 2 days a week and weekends. Teaching ages 14 and up, max 6 people per class. (Training provided!)
- Must have great phone and in-person communication skills. Previous Point of Sales experience preferred.
- Must work well with children and families
- Opening the gym- Getting gym ready for guest arrival.
- Closing the gym- Nightly cleaning & closing up.
- Giving excellent customer service to our members and new guests at the front desk which includes checking in customers, fitting gear, selling climbing packages, answering phone and assisting climbers in the gym as needed.
- Managing member accounts via our Rock Gym Pro software.
- Administering top rope and lead belay tests.
- Maintaining cleanliness of gym and maintain a safe and welcoming gym environment.
