Position purpose:
This is an ideal opportunity for a technically proficient leader to bring a group to the next level. As a Technical Manager, you will lead a small but growing team of Linux engineers. You will be a good manager of people and provide technical leadership related to the operation, architecture, design, configuration, and implementation of Linux based solutions within the organization. Additionally, you are expected to interact with the business, understand their needs, and translate into technical solutions.
Primary Duties will include:
- Managing a diverse and global team of skilled Linux engineer professionals in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Maintaining and developing our Linux Enterprise estate
- Demonstrate leadership skills and be able to effectively lead technical staff for effective execution of tasks, while maintaining and developing positive team dynamics.
- Interact with product development teams to understand requirements and translate into technical solutions.
- Collaborate with DevOps and identify opportunities to leverage cloud services and automation.
- Explore and integrate new technologies, transitioning operations from traditional administration to IaaC automated provisioning and configuration management.
- Providing escalation support for subordinates and junior resources
- Evaluating and implementing potential new tools and technologies – IaaS / IaaC models for infrastructure deployment provisioned within containers.
- Ensuring proper planning and execution of major projects/maintenance activities.
- Preparing work schedules to include daily support schedules, holiday work schedules, on-call rotations to ensure adequate coverage of all shifts always.

To land this role you will need:
- 5 years in leadership position.
- A good organizer of people, working effectively under pressure in a high paced and energetic environment.
- Experience with lifecycle/configuration management tools i.e. Ansible, Forman, Terraform.
- Experience with Red Hat and Debian Linux flavors.
- Experience with cloud services required. Azure is preferred
- Effective communications skills both orally and in writing; able to create comprehensive proposals, white papers, and technical documents.
- Ability to set priorities and drive for results.
- Professional manner and customer service experience.
What will make you stand out:
- In-Depth of Experience in Linux
- Experience with containers: Kubernetes, Docker required.
- Experience with scripting languages; BASH, Python required
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Technology, or related computing major required, or equivalent experience.
- ITIL V3 or V4 Foundations Certification – preferred Intermediate.
Working conditions:
- Hybrid working (3 days in office per week)
Hiring Salary Range $150,000.00 - £229,050.00 per year to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity and alignment with market data.) Subject to business performance and recommendations of management, this role may be eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan. This compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position, is offered.
Salary : $150,000 - $229,050
