Server

Stoney Ridge Tasting room and Restaurant is a winery producing more than 1000 cases of handcrafted wine and hard cider each year. we are currently looking to add positive, customer service oriented, friendly wine and food-lovers to our team. Ideal Server candidates would possess strong customer service skills, weekend and holiday availability, background in sales, a desire to learn about and educate guests on our wines, the winemaking process and how to pair wines with food. Stoney Ridge Tasting room & Restaurant is in heart of the downtown district of Montague, MI.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide the first line of communication to the guest by greeting, directing and answering questions regarding our wines, history, vineyard, farm and new food menu offerings
• Communicate in a knowledgeable, professional and gracious manner
• Serve samples of wine, sharing appropriate information with guests in both individual and group setting
• Accurately use the point of sale system to conduct sales and maintain proper inventory
• Promote the wine club and process sign-ups
• Guide guests in wine selections that best pair with new food menu options
• Perform housekeeping of dining room, restroom and patio
• Perform opening and closing checklist duties

QUALIFICATIONS

• Wine, cider and food appreciation is necessary for this position
• Must have strong verbal communication skills and the ability to articulate product information to guests
• Ability to establish priorities and work independently
• Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure
• Strong organizational ability, exceptional attention to detail and follow-through
• Previous customer service and retail experience preferred
• Ability to stand, move, or walk for extended periods of time up to 7 hours
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 30lbs

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• No experience necessary for the right candidate, but 1-3 years of applicable experience is preferred
• High School diploma required, college degree a plus
• Must be 21 or older
