What are the responsibilities and job description for the Beach Gatekeeper position at Stonington Community Center, Inc.?
Summary of Responsibilities:
The Beach Gatekeeper is responsible for the effective and safe operation of the entrance to duBois Beach from Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day. From May 24 – June 15, the beach will only be staffed on weekends. From June 16 – Labor Day, the beach will be staffed daily, 10am-4pm, weather permitting.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 15 years of age
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Customer service experience
Specific duties: Responsible for assuring that every person that enters the beach area has or purchases a beach pass.
- Completion of daily log
- Completion of receipts for purchased beach passes and memberships
- Checking passes of beach patrons that are on the beach prior to your arrival
- Enforcing all beach policies, rules, and regulations
- Helping when needed to maintain beach: seaweed removal, sand raking, trash pickup, and other tasks that keep the beach in pristine shape
- Represent the Stonington Community Center in a professional, helpful, and pleasant manner
- Positive and friendly interaction with beach patrons
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
