This has led to the creation of a Division of Addiction Psychiatry. Stony Brook's anticipated affiliations with community hospitals, one which currently operates NYS licensed SUD programs, will require a coordinated effort to help address the county-wide problem.The attending will be providing clinical care to patients with substance use disorders which has grown signficantly in recent years, along with having some teaching / supervising addiction psychiatry to medical students, residents in psychiatry and other departments.In addition, will assist in working with the hospitals and school of medicine to develop comprehensive addiction services across the spectrum as we work towards preventive treatments / model within Stony Brook School of Medicine.QualificationsRequired Qualifications : MD / DO (or foreign equivalent). NYS licensure, or eligibility. Demonstrated experience and expertise in addiction psychiatry. Experience leading a multi-disciplinary team of practitioners.Preferred Qualifications : Fellowship with ABPN / ABPM, Board Certification in Addiction Psychiatry / Addiction Medicine. Current federal grant funding. Track record of addiction research / teaching experience in Addiction Psychiatry. Prior faculty in addiction psychiatry fellowship.
