Dietary Aide (Part-time 0.6 FTE Varied Days / Flex Shifts)
Position Description
- Assemble and deliver patient meal trays.
- Transport food carts and equipment in a safe manner throughout the hospital as required.
- Operate and clean equipment per departmental procedures.
- Safely transport garbage and recyclable material to assigned areas.
- Accurately portions and serve food for patients quickly, accurately, with minimum of waste and in accordance with departmental procedures.
- Accurately inventory and deliver par stock supplies to identified units and clean per departmental procedures.
- Complete food temperature control logs as per established protocol.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience : Two (2) years' experience in healthcare food service preferred.
Qualifications : High school diploma or equivalent. Suffolk County Department of Health food manager's safety certificate; or valid equivalent certificates issued three (3) years by an approved governmental agency or private corporation preferred. Valid ServSafe food handler certification preferred.
Physical Demands : Ability to use short step ladder. Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds with assistance. Sufficient mobility and dexterity of both arms to safely operate equipment, utensils and retrieve stock inventory items. Ability to work in hot and cold environments. Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
