Position Summary
The Ward Clerk performs clinical and receptionist duties on assigned unit under the direct supervision of the Nurse Manager or Charge Nurse. He / she also promotes cooperation, a positive attitude and creates a safe environment for both patients and staff. The Ward Clerk is responsible for knowing and adhering to established hospital policies and procedures, including all aspects of safety.
Duties of a may include the following but are not limited to :
Transcribes doctors' orders and accurately communicates this information to appropriate personnel.
Maintains and updates patient records as delegated by the Nurse Manager, Charge Nurse or other Nursing leader.
Performs clerical functions as needed.
Assists with telephone calls and channels information to appropriate person.
Other duties as deemed appropriate by Management.
