What are the responsibilities and job description for the Insurance Specialist/Front desk clerk position at Stony Creek Community Health Center?
Duties:
- Greet and welcome patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner
- Register patients by verifying their demographic information and insurance details
- Schedule patient appointments using medical scheduling software such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries or direct calls to the appropriate department
- Collect and process patient payments
- Maintain patient records and ensure accuracy of medical information
- Assist with medical record management, including filing, scanning, and organizing documents
- Coordinate referrals to specialists or other healthcare providers as needed
- Provide excellent customer service to ensure patient satisfaction
- Follow HIPAA guidelines to maintain patient confidentiality
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Proficient in using eClinicalworks medical office software system.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
- Strong organizational skills to manage patient appointments and records effectively
- Ability to work well in a team and collaborate with other healthcare professionals
Please note that previous experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar role is preferred.
