Fleet Maintenance Mechanic Manager I

The primary purpose of this position is to direct the day-to-day functions of Transportation Fleet Maintenance.
The fleet consists of:

- Tandem Axle Tractor
- Refrigerated Trailers
- Cargo Trailers
- Yard Tractors
- Leased Tractors (NH)

• Manages the day-to-day operation of the Fleet Maintenance Dept to include oversight and maintenance of all tractors, trailers, and other equipment needed by the distribution center.
• Directly supervises mechanics and staff. Supervises subordinate personnel including determining workload and delegating assignments, training, monitoring, and evaluation.
• Teaches others the principles and techniques used in the specific service or trade, adherence to industry and/or safety standards and maintenance of related equipment, tools and /or supplies.
• Ensures equipment availability to support fleet operations. Implement aggressive Preventive Maintenance programs. Responsible documenting issues for warranty recovery on all Fleet vehicles.
• Maintains effective working relationships with regulatory agencies, local governments, professional organizations, and civic groups.
