Fleet Maintenance Mechanics Role
Fleet maintenance mechanics perform preventive maintenance on Class 8 tractor trailer semi units. They maintain and repair equipment to ensure a safe fleet and compliance with State and Federal trucking regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment, brakes, rear trailer doors, structural welding, tires, suspension, and axle work.
- Conduct electrical lighting and engine repairs.
- Possess a DOT health card and have their own set of tools.
- Have computer skills for data entry into maintenance systems.
- Vocational or Technical certification is preferred.
- Be able to perform vehicle diagnostics using scan tools.
- Hold a CDL and be able to attain a CDL-A within 18 months.
Work Environment
This is a 4-day work week with 10-hour shifts. Occasional overtime is required.
